Mary Njoku Tells Women: Don’t Outsource Your Happiness, Embrace Self-Love
Actress Mary Njoku has urged women to take control of their own happiness, emphasizing the importance of self-love and personal well-being. In a recent Instagram post, Njoku advised women not to rely on others for their emotional fulfillment, stressing that happiness is a personal responsibility.
She particularly encouraged mothers to balance care for their children with self-care, reminding them that taking breaks and prioritizing their own needs is both necessary and acceptable. Njoku also reflected on life’s brevity, noting that even those who appear indispensable will eventually move on.
“Stop outsourcing your happiness! Love yourself. Never put the responsibility for your happiness on someone else; you will always come last if you put them first,” she wrote. She further advised, “If you’re a mother, love your children, but love yourself too. It’s okay to take a break. It’s okay to rest. It’s okay to be a little selfish sometimes.”
Njoku concluded by highlighting the impermanence of life: “Life is short. You don’t know when it will end. One day, you could be gone. The people you think can’t live without you? They will go on. Some may even live better without you. Love yourself. Life is too short not to,” according to Ireporter Online.
