The Nigeria Police Force has disclosed that 151 senior officers are currently under investigation and appearing before the Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC) over various allegations of professional misconduct and breaches of conduct.

The review process, which began on Monday, July 14, at the IGP Smart Conference Hall in Force Headquarters, Abuja, is scheduled to conclude on Friday, July 25, 2025.

According to iReporter Online, this disciplinary exercise is part of the strategic reforms championed by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, aimed at entrenching a culture of internal accountability and elevating professional standards within the Force. The affected officers, spanning the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police and above, were drawn from multiple commands and formations across Nigeria.

The Force Spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner of Police Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated that the FDC serves as a vital institutional mechanism to evaluate and adjudicate cases of ethical violations, misconduct, and abuse of office among high-ranking police personnel. According to iReporter Online, the disciplinary panel is tasked with conducting a fair, transparent, and comprehensive review in line with existing police regulations and procedures, after which recommendations will be forwarded to the Police Service Commission for appropriate action.

Egbetokun, while addressing the seriousness of the situation, reiterated his administration’s zero tolerance for indiscipline and corruption within the Force. He emphasized that no officer, regardless of rank or influence, will be shielded from due process where violations have occurred.
