According to iReporter Online, six law students abducted along the volatile Benue-Taraba corridor have regained their freedom, following a successful rescue operation by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.

The students, who were en route from Anambra State to the Nigerian Law School campus in Yola, Adamawa State, were kidnapped on July 26, 2025. The incident occurred while they were traveling through a high-risk zone between Wukari in Taraba and a border area in Benue State.

In a statement released in Makurdi, the spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, Udeme Edet, confirmed that the victims were rescued unharmed and reunited with their families early Friday morning, August 1, 2025.
