According to iReporter Online, the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, has approved an increase in the monthly stipend for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state, raising it from ₦20,000 to ₦30,000. The announcement was made during the official swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch B Stream I corps members held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Damare, Girei Local Government Area.

Governor Fintiri emphasized his administration’s dedication to enhancing youth welfare and development, describing the increment as part of broader efforts to ensure a supportive environment for corps members posted to the state. He reiterated that the welfare of young Nigerians remains a top priority for his government, citing ongoing provisions such as food supplies and other key amenities as further examples of this commitment.

The governor also revealed that plans were progressing for the establishment of a new NYSC orientation facility within the state. He directed that corps members with relevant professional backgrounds—including architecture, civil engineering, and quantity surveying—be actively involved in overseeing the construction process.

In his address, Governor Fintiri welcomed the newly deployed corps members to Adamawa and described them as strategic partners in executing government policies, particularly within the education sector. He urged them to maintain discipline, contribute meaningfully to their host communities, and participate fully in the orientation activities.

Also speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Youths and Chairman of the NYSC Governing Board in the state, Wali Yakubu, encouraged corps members to embrace the orientation course and acquire vocational skills that would ensure self-reliance after their service year.

The NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Osoro Caroline, commended the conduct of the corps members, describing them as focused and disciplined. The event also featured the administration of the oath of allegiance by the Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Justice Hapsat Abdurrahman. In a symbolic gesture, the governor was presented with the official NYSC journal to commemorate the occasion.
