Militant Crisis Averted: 109 Terrorists Eliminated, 43 Lives Saved – Defence HQ

Major Gains in Counterterrorism
Under Operation Hadin Kai, 64 terrorists were killed, 28 suspects apprehended, and 14 hostages freed. Similarly, Operation Fansan Yamma accounted for 21 neutralized terrorists, 24 arrests, and five rescued hostages. The air component played a crucial role, with targeted strikes in Alawa Forest, Niger State, dismantling terrorist hideouts and logistics hubs.

Arms and Ammunition Seized
Recovered weaponry included nine AK-47 rifles, five fabricated rifles, four dane guns, locally made pistols, and over 120 rounds of ammunition. Troops also seized vehicles, motorcycles, and various communication devices during the raids.

Crackdown on Oil Theft
In the Niger Delta, the military dismantled 10 illegal refining sites, confiscated 631,709 liters of stolen crude oil, and seized equipment like speedboats and pumping machines.

Commitment to Security
Director of Defence Media Operations Edward Buba affirmed the military’s commitment to national security, highlighting the “incremental efficiency” of ongoing operations. Citizens were urged to remain vigilant and supportive of the armed forces’ efforts.
