Minister Tunji Alausa Plans Unannounced Visits To Unity Schools Over Welfare Issues

Speaking at Queens College in Yaba, Lagos, on Monday, Alausa highlighted the urgent need for infrastructural improvements. He emphasized that the school, which has been in operation for nearly 100 years, is operating beyond its original capacity. He noted that significant work will be undertaken to restore the school to its former glory.

“Queens College requires substantial upgrades to properly accommodate students and staff. We must ensure a proper student-to-teacher ratio and adequate facilities for boarding and feeding,” Alausa stated. He assured that the Federal Ministry of Education would work with Principal Obabori and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) to renovate and construct new facilities, including libraries, dining areas, hostels, and classrooms.

Alausa reiterated the mission of President Bola Tinubu to provide quality education for all Nigerian children. “In the coming months, I will make unscheduled visits to other Unity Schools and Federal Government Colleges,” he added, reaffirming his commitment to improving the education system in line with the administration’s vision.
