Mojisola Meranda was born on August 16, 1980, into the royal Lawal-Akapo family of Ojora, Aromire, Onitana, Oloto, and Oniru.
Her late father, Chief T. A Lawal Akapo, was a legislator and became the Ojora of Lagos.
Meranda’s mother hails from the Oniru family, and her brother is Oba AbdulWasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, the Oniru of Iru land.
She attended St. Charles Nursery and Primary School and Randle Primary School in Surulere before moving to Lagos Anglican Girls Grammar School and Ansar-Ud-Deen Secondary School.
Mojisola obtained her West African School Certificate (WASC) in 1998 and pursued software development, earning an advanced certificate in 2005.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Lagos State University in 2013.
Between 2007 and 2008, she worked in the oil and gas sector as a procurement manager at Cirrus Nigeria Limited.
Mojisola ventured into politics in 2008, initially serving in Apapa Local Government as a senior special assistant and later as a supervisory councillor for health.
She was first elected to the Lagos House of Assembly in 2015, representing Apapa Constituency 1, and re-elected in 2019 and 2023.
Prior to becoming Speaker, Mojisola served as the Chief Whip of the ninth Lagos House of Assembly
