Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 general election in the state after securing a decisive victory in the party’s primary election.

According to reports, Mutfwang polled 233,335 votes to defeat his challenger, retired Commodore Yilchini Bida, who garnered 3,070 votes in the exercise conducted across the state.

The chairman of the election committee, Fidelis Mnyim, announced the result on Friday in Jos, declaring Mutfwang winner after satisfying the constitutional requirements of the party. He stated that the governor scored the highest number of votes in the primary and was therefore returned as the APC governorship candidate for Plateau State in the 2027 elections.

In a similar development, Peter Mbah emerged as the sole governorship candidate of the APC in Enugu State ahead of the 2027 governorship poll.
