Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Urges Yahaya Bello To Focus On Corruption Trial

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has called on former governor Yahaya Bello to prioritize addressing the corruption charges against him rather than pursuing efforts to have her recalled from the Senate.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed her gratitude to her constituents for their unwavering support during recent challenges. The senator’s remarks were in response to a statement made by the Kogi State Government, which dismissed her accusations that Bello, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Senator Ekpenyong Asuquo plotted to assassinate her, labeling the claims as “malicious falsehoods.”

Kogi Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, had previously described Akpoti-Uduaghan as an “incurable liar and serial manipulator” who aims to deceive the public.

In her statement, Akpoti-Uduaghan maintained her resolve, emphasizing that she would not be intimidated by any attempts at blackmail.

She stated, “I advise the former governor to focus on clearing his name from the N80.2 billion fraud allegations rather than trying to destabilize the mandate given to me by the people of Kogi Central. I remain committed to serving my people and will not betray their trust.”

The senator also accused Bello of attempting to undermine her mandate through recall efforts, which she described as a calculated move to disrupt the will of the people. She asserted that despite the challenges posed by the former governor and his allies, her popularity within her constituency remains evident.

“This recall effort is nothing but a desperate attempt to subvert the will of the people. My constituents have made it clear that they reject injustice, false recall attempts, and the manipulations of Yahaya Bello and his supporters,” Akpoti-Uduaghan declared.
