Ndume: I’m Not Popular In The Corridors Of Power

Senator Ali Ndume, who represents Borno South Senatorial District, has attributed his repeated electoral victories to divine grace, the support of his constituents, and backing from certain political leaders, while noting that he is not among those favoured within the current corridors of power.

According to Ireporter Online, Ndume made this known during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, where he reflected on his long political career and consistent success at the polls. The lawmaker, who has served two terms in the House of Representatives and four terms in the Senate, said he is preparing to contest his seventh election.

He maintained that his constituents continue to re-elect him because of their confidence in his representation and their belief in the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to him, his electoral success is rooted in the trust of the people and the perceived performance of the party in the state.

Ndume further stated that his emergence as a candidate was made possible through what he described as divine support, the goodwill of his constituents, and the influence of supportive leaders. He, however, stressed that he does not enjoy strong patronage within the political establishment.

The senator also acknowledged his history of criticism toward the administration of President Bola Tinubu but emphasized that public office holders should be commended when they take positive steps in governance.
