American rapper Nicki Minaj has threatened legal action against Nigerian influencer Dr Penking, accusing him of cyberbullying and copyright infringement. The dispute arose after Penking shared an old video of Minaj on social media, captioning it: “Nicki Minaj should understand that she has gotten old and retire.”

Minaj responded by questioning whether Penking had obtained permission to use the clip and accused him of harassment. In a statement, she wrote, “Do you have permission to use this video that I filmed years ago to harass me on this or any platform? You’ve just been added to the suit.”

Dr Penking defended his actions, citing freedom of speech and noting that Minaj is 43 and should consider retiring. According to him, the video is publicly accessible and expressing an opinion does not constitute harassment. He said, “Tell Nicki Minaj that my team and I are ready and eagerly anticipating her papers. Freedom of speech and expression is supreme in all constitutions in the world and I have the right to express my opinion at all times. There is nothing harassing about this. It is publicly accessible information. Should she retire? I think she should. That’s my personal opinion and I stand by it. You can agree or disagree. I will not be bullied or intimidated by Nicki Minaj or any other celebrity.”
