Dr. Olufemi Olaleye, the former medical director at Optimal Cancer Care Foundation in Lagos, has been remanded in custody in the United Kingdom following his arrest at Gatwick Airport on November 27, 2025. The British citizen, who previously served in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Darent Valley Hospital between 2005 and 2008, faces allegations of sexual offenses allegedly committed during his medical practice in the UK.

Kent Police confirmed that Dr. Olaleye, who also goes by Frank, Femi, and Francis, has been charged with three counts of voyeurism under the Sexual Offences Act 2003. A police spokesperson stated that he was arrested upon returning from Nigeria and subsequently appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court, where he denied all charges. He has been remanded in custody pending his next hearing, scheduled for January 2, 2026, with the substantive case set for January 21, 2026, at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court.

The charges allege that between May 2004 and July 2007 in Dartford, Kent, Dr. Olaleye secretly recorded individuals engaged in private acts for sexual gratification without their consent. Voyeurism, defined as secretly watching, filming, or photographing someone in a private setting without permission, is illegal in the UK. Reports indicate that some of the victims included women, one of whom was married, and the recording led to the dissolution of her marriage.

Dr. Olaleye’s recent arrest follows a prior high-profile legal case in Lagos, Nigeria, where he faced allegations of sexual assault and defilement involving his wife’s niece between 2020 and 2021. Initially convicted in October 2023 and sentenced to life imprisonment, his conviction was overturned by the Lagos Court of Appeal in November 2024, resulting in his acquittal.
