Nigerian Returnees From Ukraine To Receive $100 Each – FG

The Federal Government of Nigeria has said that each Nigerian returnee from Ukraine will get $100 on arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

An Air Peace chartered flight evacuated Nigerians fleeing Ukraine via Poland on Friday morning.

Some 2,000 Nigerians are said to have fled Ukraine amid the Russian invasion.

The Federal Government on Wednesday approved $8.5m for the evacuation of Nigerians stuck in the Russian-Ukraine war.

According to the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Zubairu Dada, the countries where the pickup flights would be headed include – Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania.

Two flights from Air Peace and one from Max Air are expected to undertake the evacuation exercise.
