In an interview with ireporteronline on Monday, Eradiri expressed his frustration with the deep-rooted corruption and systemic issues that hinder genuine leadership and development in the country. He lamented the lack of readiness among Nigerians and party members for real change, noting that many were more interested in financial handouts than in meaningful political transformation.

“They showed me pepper,” Eradiri said, referring to both the public and party members, emphasizing how money could easily erase the hardships Nigerians face. Despite his efforts to inspire change, he admitted that the political environment was heavily transactional, with individuals focusing on what they could gain from the system, whether from the ruling party or deep-pocketed figures.

Eradiri also criticized the electoral system, accusing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of contributing to the manipulation and unfair advantages for wealthier candidates. He recounted how the system allowed rival parties to easily undermine his efforts, such as by purchasing codes for party agents and deploying them to sabotage his campaign.

Reflecting on his post-election journey, Eradiri acknowledged the toll the experience took on him, revealing that his struggles were not unique to the LP but pervasive across all parties. However, he is now focused on rebuilding himself and his practice, determined to move forward despite the challenges.

“These shenanigans are in every party,” he said, “but you can navigate through them if you have a strong structure.”
