Sources within the National Assembly confirmed the delay, with an official statement on the rescheduling expected soon. The change follows an earlier announcement by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who had previously confirmed the original date of December 17. Akpabio had also revealed that the presentation would occur in the House of Representatives chamber.

The National Assembly had been informed that the Senate session would begin at 10:30 a.m. on the 17th, followed by a formal procession to the House of Representatives for the budget presentation.

This shift comes after President Tinubu presented the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) for the 2025-2027 period to both the Senate and the House of Representatives last month.
