According to Naija News, the Minister, while expressing disappointment at the dwindling population in the village, reassured the residents that the area would soon regain its economic vibrancy.

“This place used to be full of life with a bustling economy. I assure you that business will return to normal soon. We are planning to establish a military base here,” Matawalle stated.

However, he called for an end to the practice of leaking information to bandits. “You must fear God. Those who are tipping off bandits about the movements of security personnel or betraying their own brothers must stop immediately. Repent now, or we will send you back to your creator,” Matawalle warned.

In a related development, Matawalle also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eliminating bandits, terrorists, and other criminal elements in the Northwest. Speaking to the press in Sokoto State on Wednesday, he revealed that his return to the region was part of efforts to oversee and coordinate the security operations as directed by President Bola Tinubu.
