In a passionate plea during a radio program on Thursday, Jibrin stressed the gravity of the political rift, noting that the conflict between these two influential leaders has set back the state’s development. He urged all well-meaning Kano citizens to unite for peace and reconciliation.

Jibrin highlighted the impressive political trajectories of both Kwankwaso and Ganduje. Kwankwaso, a former civil servant, rose to become Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, two-term governor, Minister of Defence, and a presidential aspirant. Similarly, Ganduje’s career spanned civil service, FCT Director, Deputy Governor, and two-term governor, before becoming Chairman of the ruling party.

“They’ve both been incredibly successful, and their rivalry is a tragedy for Kano,” said Jibrin. “Their reconciliation is not only about politics; it’s a moral duty for us as Muslims and citizens.”

The lawmaker emphasized that, despite their political differences, Kwankwaso and Ganduje should reconcile for the sake of Kano’s future. “We must see them supporting each other during joyous and challenging times, regardless of their party affiliations,” he concluded.

This reconciliation, Jibrin stressed, is key to fostering peace, unity, and progress in Kano State, which has been under the shadow of their long-standing feud. He called on everyone who believes in the power of unity to work towards mending this fractured relationship.
