North Central Development Commission Board Pays Courtesy Visit to Minister Momoh, Pledges Commitment to Renewed Hope Agenda
ABUJA — In a move that signals a new dawn for the North Central region, members of the yet-to-be-inaugurated Board of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) on Tuesday paid a familiarisation visit to the Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, FNSE, at his office in Abuja.`
The visit, led by the Board Chairman, Cosmas Terence Akilgh, brought together other distinguished members including Aishatu Rufai Ibrahim, James Abel Uloko, Bilyas Jumare Sanni, Prof. Muhammad Bashar Nuhu, and Alhaji Suleiman Baba Ali. The engagement was aimed at aligning the Commission’s vision with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Minister Momoh, in his remarks, warmly welcomed the delegation and commended the President’s foresight in establishing the Commission. He stressed that the creation of the NCDC is a strategic intervention designed to address the peculiar developmental challenges of the North Central states, restore livelihoods, and unlock the region’s untapped potential.
“The North Central region is rich in resources and talent. With the Renewed Hope Agenda as our guiding light, this Commission will serve as a catalyst for infrastructure growth, agricultural development, security enhancement, and human capital investment. We are committed to working hand-in-hand with you to deliver results that our people can feel and see,” the Minister affirmed.
Responding on behalf of the delegation, Chairman Akilgh expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reiterated the Board’s readiness to hit the ground running once inaugurated. He assured the Minister that the NCDC will operate with transparency, inclusivity, and a deep sense of responsibility to the people of the region.
The visit ended on a note of optimism, as both parties agreed on the need for synergy between the Ministry, the Commission, and relevant stakeholders to accelerate socio-economic transformation across the North Central zone.
With this meeting, the foundation has been laid for a partnership that promises to bring the Renewed Hope Agenda closer to the grassroots, ensuring that development is not just a policy statement but a lived reality for millions in the North Central region.
