Federation (NFF) on January 7 was met with mixed reactions, as some fans and analysts questioned his qualifications and fit for the high-profile role.

Despite the skepticism, Dikko remains confident in Chelle’s abilities, highlighting his vast experience in African football. Dikko emphasized the importance of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers and the need for a coach with expertise in African football, noting Chelle’s previous success with the Mali national team and his work with Algerian club MC Oran.

Dikko pointed out that the Super Eagles will face key African opponents like Zimbabwe, Rwanda, South Africa, Lesotho, and Benin in their qualifiers. He stressed that Chelle’s understanding of the unique dynamics of African football makes him an ideal choice to lead the team during this crucial period.
