According to Ireporter Online, Nollywood superstar Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has premiered her directorial debut, A Mother’s Love, at the ongoing Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

The emotional feature film was screened on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Cinema 5 of the TIFF Lightbox before a diverse international audience. The premiere was attended by notable industry figures, including the Executive Director of the National Film and Video Censors Board, Dr. Shuaibu Husseini, and prominent filmmakers such as Obi Emelonye, Victor Akande, and Ramsey Nouah.

The project marks a new chapter in Omotola’s illustrious journey, transitioning from her celebrated on-screen career to carving out a distinct voice as a storyteller on the global stage. Speaking at the premiere, the 47-year-old actress described the achievement as a personal milestone, coinciding with her 30th year in the film industry. She noted that she has featured in more than 300 movies and had previously co-directed and written scripts, but emphasized that this project represents her first full-length directorial effort.
