Oprah Winfrey has revealed her new series with Prince Harry on mental health will be released this month after being delayed.

Oprah discussed her program while talking on CBS’ The Drew Barrymore Show last week.

Appearing on the talk show alongside US psychiatrist Dr Bruce D. Perry, Oprah explained: “I wanna just say that Dr Perry and I have been also, for the past two years, along with Prince Harry and Apple, we’ve been working on this mental health series that’s coming out in May on Apple.”

The talk show host explained that she wanted to highlight the importance of using her life “in order to help” others with theirs.

Oprah and Prince Harry have worked with each other over a number of years on this project.

In 2019, the communications team for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that Harry was teaming up with Oprah to create a documentary series on mental health.

Oprah also mentioned publicly that she had worked with Prince Harry.

During her interview with Harry and Meghan, which aired on ITV in March, Oprah briefly mentioned the series, after Meghan confessed to experiencing suicidal thoughts while pregnant with her first son Archie.

Meghan Markle spoke about her ordeal and Oprah responded “nobody should have to go through that”.

The American host then explained: “And, you know, Harry and I are working on this mental health series for Apple, and yeah we hear a lot of these stories.”

The mental health documentary was originally scheduled for a 2020 release but has been likely delayed due to the pandemic.

The statement from the royal communication team at the time also read: “The dynamic multi-part documentary series will focus on both mental illness and mental wellness, inspiring viewers to have an honest conversation about the challenges each of us faces, and how to equip ourselves with the tools to not simply survive, but to thrive.

“This commitment builds on The Duke of Sussex’s long-standing work on issues and initiatives regarding mental health, where he has candidly shared personal experience and advocated for those who silently suffer, empowering them to get the help and support they deserve.

“His Royal Highness has spent many years working with communities throughout the UK and young people across the Commonwealth to break the stigma surrounding mental illness and broaden the conversation of mental wellness to accelerate change for a more compassionate, connected and positive society.”

Prince Harry also expressed his willingness to take part in the show and said: “I truly believe that good mental health – mental fitness – is the key to powerful leadership, productive communities and a purpose-driven self.

“It is a huge responsibility to get this right as we bring you the facts, the science and the awareness of a subject that is so relevant during these times.

He continued: “Our hope is that this series will be positive, enlightening and inclusive – sharing global stories of unparalleled human spirit fighting back from the darkest places, and the opportunity for us to understand ourselves and those around us better.

“I am incredibly proud to be working alongside Oprah on this vital series.”

A 39-year-old man from the Mzilikazi suburb in Zimbabwe has been fined $5 000 for assaulting his wife for not singing at a funeral.

Lucas Mhlanga, a barber, pleaded guilty to assault charges when he appeared before Bulawayo Magistrate Mrs Nomagugu Maphosa on Monday, May 3.

Appearing for the State, Mr Owen Mugari said Mhlanga and his wife Sikhulekile Moyo, 40, were returning home after attending a funeral in the same suburb on Sunday evening when he asked her why she was not singing at the funeral. He then proceeded to assault her.

Moyo who did not sustain any injuries reported the matter to the police resulting and Mhlanga was arrested.

However, she brought an affidavit to court intending to withdraw the matter saying she had forgiven him as Mhlanga had promised not to assault her again.

“I have forgiven my husband because he promised not to do it again and because he is the father of my only child who is a minor,” said Moyo.

Mhlanga who blamed alcohol for his actions pleaded for the court to be lenient and promised not to assault her again as he now knows it is a serious offence.

“I am sorry to my wife and to the Honourable court. I acted under the influence of alcohol and I did not know that punishing my wife is an offence. Now that I know, I shall never do it again,” said Mhlanga.

The magistrate Mrs Maphosa said the court considers the fact that the complainant had rendered an affidavit intending to withdraw the case and that she was the accused person’s wife and the couple has a child who is a minor.

The magistrate said sending Mhlanga to jail would disturb the child whose upkeep is based on the accused person’s earnings as he was the breadwinner.

Mrs Maphosa ordered Mhlanga to pay $5 000 by May 30 or spend 60 days in prison.

In recent times, there have been many incidents of pastors doing outrageous things in the name of deliverance or direction from God.

From the outrageous miracles to directives, not a single week passes without one hearing of a pastor doing something untoward.

While such acts often receive a lot of condemnation from social media users, it seems that phenomenon is not going away anytime soon.

A new video which has popped up online suggests such unusual behaviour in the Christian church may even be getting worse as it has got to the point where pastors hits congregant during an unconvincing sprit exorcism.

In the video , a man who seemed to be a pastor was spotted hitting his female church member during a deliverance service before she starts screaming in a deep voice as if the spirit is about to leave her body.

Whilst the lady screams, the local prophet jogs as if he is assisting the spirit to leave the woman.

At one point he even showcases his karate skills by throwing a good round kick whilst facing the possessed woman.
Luckily he does not hit her with the kick which looks as if it is to frighten the spirit within the woman.

People on social media are not pleased with what they see and the act is pretty unconvincing that many deem it fake.

Well, watch the video below :
