Oshiomhole Slams Obaseki: ‘Threatening to Burn Nigeria Over Policeman’s Death is Absurd

APC gubernatorial candidate in Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, the former governor of Edo State, sharply criticized the current governor, Godwin Obaseki. Oshiomhole’s remarks came in response to Obaseki’s statement that if the perpetrators of the killing of a policeman assigned to APC candidate Monday Okpebholo are arrested, it would lead to chaos in Nigeria.

During the rally, which was broadcast on TVC News, Oshiomhole took aim at Obaseki’s controversial statement. “Godwin Obaseki said that if the killers of the policeman are arrested, then Nigeria will burn. Who is Godwin Obaseki to threaten Nigeria? How can a snail threaten the survival of an elephant in the forest?” Oshiomhole argued.

The incident in question involves the tragic killing of a policeman assigned to APC’s Monday Okpebholo. The murder, carried out by unknown gunmen, has sparked a contentious blame game between the APC and PDP, with each party accusing the other of inciting violence that led to the policeman’s death.
