Pakistan conducted its national and provincial elections on February 8, amidst heightened anticipation and scrutiny.

Rehman, representing the Jamaat-e-Islami party, took a principled stand by rejecting what he termed an unfair advantage over independent candidate Saif Bari, allegedly backed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the party led by former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

In a resolute statement on Monday, February 19, Rehman declared, “If anyone wants to make us win in an illegitimate manner, we will not be accepting that. Public opinion should be respected. Let the winner win; let the loser lose; no one should get anything extra.”
