Party War! PDP Boots Out BoT Chairman For Endorsing Opponent

The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled its Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman, Adolphus Wabara, citing allegations of anti-party conduct.

Amah stated that the committee thoroughly reviewed Wabara’s previous suspension before reaching the decision to expel him.

The party accused Wabara of endorsing Abia State Governor Alex Otti for a second term, an act they deemed disloyal to the PDP. As a result, the state chapter has urged the PDP national leadership to nominate a new BoT Chairman.

As of the time of this report, Wabara and his supporters have not issued any public statement regarding the expulsion.

Meanwhile, Wabara recently revealed that he has been making efforts to convince Governor Otti to join the PDP. Speaking at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Umuahia, he praised Otti’s developmental strides, describing them as non-partisan and evidence-based.

He further commended both Otti and Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah for their impressive performances in the South-East, emphasizing that party politics should take a backseat after elections.

“Politics ends after campaigns and elections. Then governance begins. Even a blind man can see what is happening in Abia,” Wabara stated.

His remarks come amid internal party tensions, with his critics viewing his support for Otti as a betrayal.
