The meeting, which took place following last week’s crisis within the National Working Committee (NWC), aimed to strengthen unity among party leaders.

During his opening remarks at the gathering, which included members of the PDP Governors’ Forum, the Board of Trustees (BoT), and former governors, Mohammed emphasized the significance of the meeting.

“This is a PDP meeting, not just a governors’ or caucus meeting,” he said. “We have only one agenda—reconciliation. Under the leadership of Amb. Umar Damagum, we are united today to address essential issues.”

He also reaffirmed the PDP’s commitment to resisting any moves to turn Nigeria into a one-party state, highlighting the party’s role as a viable alternative since 1999.

At the time of the report, only five of the party’s 13 governors were present: Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), Caleb Muftwan (Plateau), and Ademola Adeleke (Osun).
