Placid Takes Over As Force PRO From Hundeyin (Photos)

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Benjamin Hundeyin has officially handed over duties to the newly appointed Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Anthony Placid. The ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Nigerian Police Headquarters, Louis Edet House, in Abuja.

According to Ireporter Online, the appointment of DCP Placid was approved by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, as part of ongoing internal restructuring within the Nigerian Police Force. The outgoing Force Public Relations Officer, Hundeyin, confirmed the development in a statement on Sunday.

DCP Placid is a highly experienced officer with extensive expertise in administration, operations, intelligence, training, and international peacekeeping. Born on December 2, 1970, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, he hails from Mbiokporo Nsit, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Regional Planning from the University of Uyo, a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the University of Jos, and studied Law at the National Open University of Nigeria.

Placid joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police at the Police Academy, Kano, in 1996 and was commissioned in August 1998. Throughout his career, he has attended numerous professional and international courses, including the United Nations Peace Operations Specialised Training (POST) and the UNITAR Senior Leadership and Peacebuilding course in Kenya, earning certifications in Police Studies, Military Studies, Gender Awareness, International Humanitarian Law, Human Rights, and Civilian Protection.

This transition marks a key moment in the leadership of the Force Public Relations Department, with DCP Placid expected to bring his extensive experience to bear on the strategic communication of the Nigerian Police Force.
