Political Storm Hits Benue: Lawmaker Samuel Agada Arrested In Controversial Clash With PoliceTensions are escalating in Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State following the alleged arrest of Hon. Samuel Agada, the representative of Ogbadibo State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly.

Reports indicate that Agada was detained by the police after a confrontation occurred when he attempted to secure the release of a constituent. Witnesses claim that Agada was unjustly treated by the officers, sparking outrage among his supporters who staged a protest.

The incident is believed to be linked to the prevailing political divisions within the state. Agada is known for his neutrality and inclusive approach, maintaining relations with all political factions in his constituency.

Comrade Ameh Ojema, a youth leader in Ogbadibo, condemned the arrest, asserting that it was unwarranted since Agada was merely performing his duties to oversee the welfare of his constituents. Ojema suggested that the arrest may be politically motivated, potentially linked to factions within the Benue All Progressives Congress (APC).

Similarly, Mr. Joseph Udo, another local youth, voiced his disapproval on social media, labeling the arrest as a politically driven act of blackmail. He defended Agada, asserting his integrity and condemning the unjust treatment.

Attempts to verify Agada’s arrest with the Benue Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Catherine Anene, were unsuccessful as she did not respond to calls or messages.
