President Tinubu Reacts After Over 40 Farmers Die In Zamfara Boat Tragedy
President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of more than 40 farmers in a boat accident in Zamfara State over the weekend. The farmers were reportedly traveling to their farms when the incident occurred.
In addition to expressing his condolences to the people and government of Zamfara, the President acknowledged the recent floods affecting Gummi Local Government Area.
A statement from Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, confirmed that President Tinubu has pledged support to those affected by these unfortunate twin disasters. He also directed emergency agencies to assess the incidents thoroughly to address the underlying causes.
In response to the situation, the President ordered emergency services to collaborate closely with the Zamfara State Government to provide necessary assistance to those impacted by the flooding and the boat accident.
On a related note, President Tinubu commended the Nigerian military for its recent successful operations in the northwest, which included neutralizing notorious bandit leaders and freeing kidnapped victims. The President expressed relief and praised the security forces for their dedication and efforts to ensure peace and security across the country.
The President reaffirmed his support for the military and security agencies, encouraging them to maintain their momentum in eliminating immediate and long-term threats to national security.
