PSG Ligue 1 victory 1

According to Ireporter Online, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have received approval to postpone their upcoming Ligue 1 fixture against FC Nantes, providing a timely boost ahead of their Champions League last-16 clash with Chelsea. The match, originally scheduled for the weekend of 13 to 15 March, has now been rescheduled to the week beginning 20 April, allowing PSG a five-day gap between the two European legs.

The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) confirmed the change, stating that, “At the request of Paris Saint-Germain, to best prepare for their two-legged tie against Chelsea, the LFP board of directors, in agreement with Nantes, have decided the Paris Saint-Germain–Nantes match will be played the week of April 20. The exact date and time of the match will be determined later.”

Chelsea, on the other hand, are set to host Newcastle United in the Premier League on 14 March, just three days before welcoming PSG to Stamford Bridge. This is not the first time PSG have benefited from such scheduling adjustments, having previously had a league match against Nantes moved to accommodate a Champions League quarter-final against Aston Villa.

The two sides last met in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final, where Chelsea secured a 3-0 victory over the French champions.
