Queen Atang Announces End Of Marriage, Confirms She Is Single

Big Brother Naija star Queen Mercy Atang has officially confirmed that her marriage to David Oyekanmi has ended, putting to rest months of speculation surrounding their relationship. According to reports monitored by Ireporter Online, the reality TV personality made the disclosure during an interaction with a fan on social media who had admired her and questioned her marital status. In response, Queen openly stated that she is now single and unavailable, a reply that immediately signaled the end of her union.

The speculation around their marriage had intensified since August when both Queen and David unfollowed each other on Instagram. Around the same period, David was seen in public without his wedding ring, while Queen removed his name from her bio and deleted his photos from her page, further fueling rumors of a marital crisis. The situation grew more uncertain in October when Queen again unfollowed her husband, raising fresh concerns about the stability of their relationship.

However, in December, the couple appeared to have reconciled after Queen travelled to the United Kingdom to spend Christmas with David. Both shared moments from the visit online, suggesting an attempt to resolve their differences. Queen had also hinted at returning to her responsibilities as a wife, while David publicly reassured her of his care and commitment.

The couple had earlier held their traditional introduction ceremony in Akwa Ibom State in the presence of family, friends, and colleagues before proceeding to legally formalize their marriage at the Federal Marriage Registry in Lagos. Their wedding proper took place in March, shortly after the introduction ceremony. With Queen’s recent confirmation, the union has now officially come to an end.
