The fabricated announcement, which alleged that an application portal would be launched by midnight on Sunday, April 13, 2025, was falsely attributed to the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Worika.

Brown stressed that any official communication regarding recruitment into the Rivers State Civil Service will only come through the Rivers State Civil Service Commission and not via unverified social media posts or unauthorized sources.

“We wish to categorically inform the people of Rivers State and the general public to disregard this fake announcement,” the statement read. “Any valid update on civil service employment will be issued through the appropriate and official government channels.”
