According to Ireporter Online, Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has called on his supporters to back the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The governor made the appeal on Thursday during the inauguration of the Ogbakiri Junction–Waterfront Road in Emohua Local Government Area.

Fubara revealed that he recently held a strategic meeting with the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), where party leaders tasked him with mobilizing his loyalists in Rivers State to support Tinubu. Describing the president’s re-election as a significant challenge, he assured party leadership that his supporters—whom he referred to as “the right foot soldiers”—were prepared to deliver the needed backing.

Highlighting the turnout at the inauguration, the governor said the engagement already represented 70 percent of the mobilization effort in the area. He commended Chief David Omereji, a prominent local leader, for his steadfast support and expressed confidence that collaboration with Omereji’s political structure would ensure success.

Fubara also urged residents to maintain peace in their communities to foster development and protect government investments, emphasizing that local cooperation was key to achieving lasting progress.

Regarding the newly inaugurated road, the governor noted that the project was initiated during a challenging period in his administration and described its completion as a demonstration of the government’s commitment to service delivery. He further assured the community that requests for additional infrastructure, including internal roads and a bridge to improve transportation, would be considered.

Fubara lauded the community’s support for the contractor and their commitment to peace, noting that the area had historically experienced conflicts but now serves as an example of stability and development.
