According to Ireporter Online, a female undergraduate at Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), studying computer science, has sparked online conversation with her candid views on dating and financial expectations. In a viral video circulating on social media, she revealed that she is unwilling to enter a romantic relationship with men earning less than ₦5 million monthly.

She emphasized that income is a significant factor in her choice of partners, categorizing men earning between ₦1 million and ₦2 million as “poor.” Those earning below ₦1 million, she said, are only suitable for casual friendships, noting she might interact with them only for minor financial assistance in emergencies.

For serious relationships, she is insistent that her partners earn at least ₦5 million per month, with the expectation of substantial financial support. She clarified her stance by stating, “Those who earn less than ₦2 million monthly are poor. You can be earning 1 to 2 million and expect to date me. I can only befriend those who earn below one million, maybe when I need emergency 50K or 100K. To date me, you must be earning from ₦5M and above. You give me ₦3M and keep ₦2M for yourself.”

Her remarks have since ignited a mix of reactions online, highlighting ongoing debates over financial expectations in modern dating.
