Scam Alert! NYSC Debunks Viral Report On Extended Service Year

The false report had alleged that from the 2025 Batch A, Stream 1, corps members would serve an additional three months due to a policy review. It also claimed that new call-up letters and orientation dates would soon be released.

However, NYSC, through a statement on its official Facebook page on Wednesday, dismissed the claims as fake news.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Youth, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, has called on NYSC management to adjust the orientation camp schedule to promote better well-being for corps members. Speaking during the 2025 Annual Management Conference in Abuja, Olawande recommended delaying morning drills to around 7:00 am instead of 4:00 am to help corps members perform better.

He emphasized his commitment to the health and welfare of Nigerian youth and said discussions are already ongoing to effect this change.
