See The Number Of Senatorial Seats APC, LP Won In Imo
The All Progressives Congress (APC) won two of Imo State’s three senatorial districts in last Saturday’s election.
The Labour Party (LP) won one seat to become the state’s main opposition party, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) did not win any seats.
The APC was declared the winner of the Imo North (Okigwe Zone) and Imo West (Orlu Zone) seats by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Former Senator Osita Izunaso won the Imo West (Orlu Zone) senatorial district election with 78,349 votes, while Charles Ahizu of the LP received 37,029 votes.
Ezenwa Onyewuchi of the LP was re-elected in Imo East (Owerri Zone) with 100,631 votes, while Uche Onyeagocha of the PDP received 87,229 votes.
Patrick Ndubueze, a former lawmaker of the APC, was declared the winner of Imo North (Okigwe Zone), polling 57,388 votes to defeat his closest rival, Emmanuel Okewulonu of the PDP, who polled 32,377 votes.
