See What Gunmen Did To Ex-governor’s Family Members 14 Days After Abduction

Fourteen days after a group of gunmen stormed the family residence of the former Governor Adamu Mua’zu, where one of his nephews was killed and three others abducted, police authority has confirmed their freedom.

Bauchi State police spokesman Ahmed Wakil confirmed that the victims were released and taken to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital for medical attention.

Police and family sources did not reveal whether ransom was paid or not. The victims on July 13 killed a 25-year-old Mua’zu Danladi while Hajiya Asma’u, (the younger sister to the ex-governor), Malama Halima Abdullahi and one Nura.

A family member who pleaded anonymity told our correspondent they had been released and thanked God for “His intervention”.

“After 14 traumatic days in captivity, the almighty Allah who is the way maker, miracle worker and light in the darkness has again answered the numerous prayers of the faithful and granted them freedom from their captives,” he said.

The relatives confirmed that “following a negotiated release, they have commenced necessary medical examinations and trauma therapy in the hospital.”
