Reports had circulated suggesting that the Senate was inadequately represented during Ubah’s burial. However, in a statement released on Sunday by Senator Yemi Adaramodu, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, the Senate denied these claims, insisting that Ubah was given all the appropriate honors as a member of the Senate.

The statement emphasized that the Senate dedicated an entire legislative day to pay tribute to the late senator, with his seat draped in the national flag as a symbol of respect. The Senate also expressed its condolences to Ubah’s family and the people of Anambra State. Following his passing, Senate President Godswill Akpabio led a delegation to Ubah’s Lagos home to offer sympathies to his wife and children.

Nearly 100 senators attended a special session in his honor, where tributes were paid to his legacy as a philanthropist, businessman, and politician. The Senate condemned the claims of abandonment, stating that the actions taken were a clear demonstration of respect for Ubah’s contributions, and labeled the rumors as misguided and preposterous.
