Sh*ckwaves In APC: Nasarawa Deputy Chairman Aliyu Barde Passes On After Brief Illness

According to Ireporter Online, the Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Hon. Aliyu Yakubu Barde, has passed away. Family sources confirmed that Barde died on Tuesday in Lafia after a brief illness. He is expected to be buried in his hometown of Wamba in line with Islamic rites.

Confirming the development, the State Secretary of the APC, Chief Otaru Douglas, described the death of the party stalwart as a painful loss to the ruling party and the entire state.

Before becoming the Deputy Chairman of the APC in Nasarawa, Barde had served as the Interim Management Committee (IMC) Chairman of Wamba Local Government Area during the administration of former Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.

In a separate development, the Chief Imam of Owo and Chairman of the Ondo State League of Imams and Alfas, Alhaji Ahmad Oladoke Aladesawe, has died at the age of 91. His death was announced on Tuesday by a Muslim leader in Owo, Alhaji Kamorudeen Ishola, who disclosed that the cleric passed away on Monday evening at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, in Ondo State.

Ishola described the late Imam as a revered Islamic scholar and community leader who dedicated his life to the propagation of Islam and the development of his community.
