Shocking Arrest: Former Immigration Officer Caught Supplying High-Tech Weapons To Bandits

The arrest, made public on March 5, was part of a successful operation led by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit under Officer Mustafa Mohammed.

During a press briefing, it was revealed that the arrest was the result of actionable intelligence. The officer was attempting to deliver firearms to criminal groups that have been terrorizing the Abuja-Kaduna area. The operation thwarted a potential arms trade that could have fueled further unrest in the region. Among the seized weapons was a 2022 Scorpion CZ EVO3, a highly sophisticated, fully automatic firearm equipped with a silencer, along with 52 rounds of ammunition.

FCT Police Commissioner Tunji Disu also reported significant success in recent operations, revealing that 300 suspects had been arrested and various illegal arms and substances confiscated between January and February 2025. These raids were conducted across high-risk areas such as Dei-Dei, Karu, Gwarinpa, and Maitama, with the objective of dismantling criminal hideouts and reducing crime within the city.
