Shocking Discovery: Lagos Police Uncover Baby Factory, Arrest 3 Suspects

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the operation followed a tip-off received last Saturday. Officers stormed the facility, arresting 35-year-old Mariam Vincent—identified as the ringleader—alongside two female accomplices: 23-year-old Orie Ruth and 18-year-old Ujunwa Ifeanyi.

Among the rescued are seven women, reportedly abducted from different locations in Lagos. Their names include Precious (24), Magdalene (25), Adaobi (23), Princess (22), Ifeanyi (25), and Amaka (26), alongside the three children: Destiny (7), Miracle (5), and Success (2).

“The suspects confessed to kidnapping the victims to operate the illegal baby factory,” Hundeyin said, adding that they would be charged in court as investigations continue.

In a related development, police also rescued two victims kidnapped in the Igbe Alagemo area of Ijede, Ikorodu on March 26. Armed assailants reportedly stormed the neighborhood, killing a guard dog and abducting a 40-year-old man named Dare, before proceeding to kidnap another resident, 25-year-old Rodiat.

Thanks to intense police efforts, the victims were freed on March 29 at about 11:56 p.m. and reunited with their families.

Police say surveillance continues across affected areas, with ongoing efforts to bring all perpetrators to justice.
