Spyro Credits Prayer And Divine Inspiration For His Music Success

According to Ireporter Online, Afrobeats sensation Spyro has revealed that prayer plays a vital role in his creative process and the success of his music promotion, given the high financial demands of the entertainment industry.

In a candid conversation with television host Frank Edoho, Spyro shared that before releasing any song, he seeks divine direction to ensure its success. He emphasized that music promotion in Nigeria requires substantial investment, often running into hundreds of millions of naira.

“I do things differently. Before I drop a song, I go into prayers because I want to know what God is saying. The music industry is very expensive to operate in,” Spyro explained.

He noted that producing a single high-quality music video could cost tens of millions of naira, citing his recent video for “Shut Down,” which reportedly cost him over ₦40 million.

Spyro highlighted that additional costs come from securing airplay on radio stations and investing heavily in social media promotion. “You’re talking of hundreds of millions sometimes for just one song. Shooting a proper video could cost ₦20 million, ₦30 million, or even ₦40 million. I also spend a lot to push my songs on radio,” he said.

The “Who Is Your Guy” crooner further disclosed that social media campaigns consume the largest portion of his budget, with platforms like Instagram and TikTok being particularly costly due to influencer payments and sponsored ads. “Social media carries the whole money. You pay influencers, run ads, and Instagram used to be more expensive than TikTok,” he added.

To manage expenses, Spyro explained that he has built a supportive network of colleagues within the industry who collaborate and assist one another, significantly reducing promotional costs. “I’ve invested in friendships. We help each other, so I don’t spend as much anymore,” he said.

Spyro also reaffirmed his reliance on divine guidance when deciding which tracks to release. He narrated how one of his songs came to him through spiritual inspiration. “When I want to drop a song, I always ask God to direct me. The first track I’m pushing on this album came directly from Him. I woke up with the song in my heart and recorded it immediately,” he recounted.

He concluded by expressing his firm belief that God is deeply interested in every aspect of his career, including music production and promotion.
