According to Ireporter Online, actress Teniola Aladese has spoken out against societal expectations that assign domestic chores primarily to women. In a recent interview on the ‘That’s What She Said’ vodcast, she challenged the notion that household responsibilities should fall on women, arguing that such expectations are outdated and unfair.

Aladese questioned why tasks like cooking, cleaning, and washing are often seen as a woman’s duty, despite women contributing equally in professional spaces. “Why can’t a man wash a plate? Why do we keep perpetuating these gender stereotypes? Women work just like men, yet when we come home, it’s expected that we handle everything—cook, clean, wash… everything!” she said.

She stressed the importance of shared domestic responsibilities, calling for a fairer distribution of household duties between men and women.
