At a prior meeting, Joseph Eboigbe, Secretary to the State Government, had assured that the outgoing administration would deliver both soft and hard copies of all relevant financial records. However, Patrick Ikhariale, Secretary of the APC transition committee, expressed dissatisfaction with the provided documents, explaining that the APC team had requested access to the materials 24 hours in advance to allow for thorough preparation.

Due to the absence of some APC committee members and the requested documents, Tuesday’s session saw limited participation and was ultimately adjourned. Ikhariale emphasized that the APC team had specific expectations, including details on financial matters and expenditures, which were not met in the submissions provided by the Obaseki administration.

In response, Edo State’s Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, countered that the APC team was making inquiries beyond the scope of a transition process. He argued that the documents provided thus far were in line with global transition standards and that further details would be available in the governor’s handover notes.
