According to Ireporter Online, Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has responded to the backlash that ensued after a viral video showed her conducting a deliverance session for a school pupil during an outreach programme.

The controversy began when the clip, which captured the actress praying for a young girl during a school visit, circulated widely on social media, attracting criticism from several public figures and online commentators, including comedian I Go Save.

In response to the reactions, Tonto Dikeh addressed her critics on Instagram, emphasizing her commitment to her faith. She stated that she would rather endure mockery or ridicule than stop testifying about the God she believes saved her.

The actress explained that she has no intention of concealing her beliefs for the sake of public approval or protecting her image. She affirmed that she is prepared to face criticism and insults as part of her spiritual calling and insisted that such attacks would not deter her from her mission.

Tonto Dikeh further clarified that she sees the opposition she is facing as spiritual rather than personal. She wrote, “I EVANGELIST TONTO DIKEH WOULD RATHER BE MOCKED, RIDICULED, OR EVEN SLAIN THAN SILENCE THE NAME OF THE ONE WHO SAVED ME. I REFUSE TO HIDE GOD TO PROTECT MY IMAGE BEFORE MERE MORTALS.
