Tinubu Reshapes Civil Service, Appoints Five New Permanent Secretaries Across Key Zones

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of five new Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service to fill existing vacancies across various ministries and geopolitical zones.

According to Ireporter Online, the announcement was made in Abuja on Monday by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, through a statement signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Eno Olotu.

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries include Ibrahim Ozi (Federal Capital Territory), Ezemama Chidiebere (Imo State), Garba Usman (North Central), Mohammed Ishiyaku (North East), and Ukaire Chigbowu (South East).

Mrs. Walson-Jack noted that the appointments followed a rigorous and transparent selection exercise in line with President Tinubu’s commitment to meritocracy, excellence, and professionalism in the civil service.

She emphasized that the new appointees were chosen based on competence, integrity, and proven track records, adding that their expertise will enhance the efficiency of public service delivery and advance the administration’s development agenda.

The Head of Service described the move as part of the ongoing reforms to reposition the civil service for better performance and accountability. She commended President Tinubu for fostering a merit-based system that rewards diligence and competence, stressing that such reforms are key to restoring public trust and strengthening institutional capacity.

Mrs. Walson-Jack further expressed optimism that the new Permanent Secretaries will contribute significantly to achieving a more effective and responsive governance structure that aligns with the President’s Renewed Hope agenda.
