Tinubu’s Camp Blasts Opposition: ‘Coalition Agenda Is a Joke, No One’s Interested
The Presidency has dismissed growing rumours of a major political coalition forming to challenge President Bola Tinubu in 2027, labelling such claims as nothing more than political hallucinations.
According to reports, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, made the remarks in a post on his official X account on Wednesday. He asserted that no significant political actors are engaged in or interested in any coalition discussions.
Bwala emphasized that both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum and the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) have openly denied any involvement in coalition talks. Similarly, the Labour Party and its 2023 presidential flagbearer, Peter Obi, have also recently distanced themselves from such efforts.
The presidential aide contrasted these developments with the momentum of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which he said continues to grow stronger by attracting prominent defectors—including top opposition figures.
“To claim there’s a rising political coalition when no one is on board is pure political hallucination,” Bwala wrote.
He added: “The PDP Governors’ Forum has said they’re not interested. The PDP NWC echoed the same. Peter Obi made it clear he’s not part of any coalition talks, and the Labour Party reaffirmed its disinterest.
“Meanwhile, the APC is the party gaining ground—welcoming defectors from all directions, including a former PDP vice presidential candidate. What’s being called a coalition is, in truth, a hallucination.”
