Toyin Abraham Reacts To Abike Shugaa’s Allegations Over Payment And Deleted Scenes In ‘Ijakumo

According to Ireporter Online, Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has responded to allegations made by influencer Olawuni Oluwapelumi Abike, popularly known as Abike Shugaa, over her participation in the film Ijakumo.

Abike Shugaa had earlier gone viral after claiming she was paid ₦50,000 for her role in the movie and later discovered that her scenes were not included in the final cut. She also referenced her experiences in other productions, sparking widespread reactions online.

Reacting via her official X account on Friday, Abraham clarified that Abike was compensated for her work in multiple projects and dismissed claims of unfair treatment. She stated that the influencer received ₦500,000 for her role in Malaika, noting that such payment was made to support emerging talents in the industry.

The actress further explained that Abike was also paid ₦50,000 for two scenes in Ijakumo, which were ultimately removed during post-production by the film’s director, emphasizing that such decisions are part of filmmaking processes beyond her control as a producer.

Abraham maintained that she has consistently supported upcoming actors and expressed disappointment over the public dispute, adding that she prefers not to further engage on the matter. She concluded by wishing all parties well, saying she had chosen to move on from the controversy.
