Tragedy In Jigawa: FG Mobilizes Resources After 105 People Die In Tanker ExplosionThe Vice President, Kashim Shettima, acting on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, has expressed deep sorrow over the devastating tanker explosion in Majiya town, located in the Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State. According to Naija News, the incident occurred around 12:30 AM on Wednesday when the tanker toppled, prompting villagers to scoop fuel before the explosion ensued.

In a statement released by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima announced the federal government’s immediate response and called for a thorough review of fuel transportation safety protocols throughout Nigeria.

He commended first responders and medical personnel for their relentless efforts, stating that their dedication “exemplifies the best of our nation’s spirit.”

Shettima offered prayers for the families affected by the tragedy, saying, “My heart aches for those who have had their families torn apart by this disaster.”

He added, “This devastating incident has shaken us all to our core. The Federal Government stands with the people of Jigawa. We are mobilizing all necessary resources to support the injured and assist the families affected by this calamity.”

The Vice President noted that the tragedy in Majiya has plunged the nation into mourning and directed the immediate deployment of personnel and resources from the National Emergency Management Agency (@nemanigeria) to Jigawa State.

“As we confront this tragedy, let us also reflect on the importance of safety measures and public awareness to prevent such incidents in the future. Every life is precious, and we must do everything we can to protect our citizens,” he emphasized.
