We Know How To Cage Him’ — APC Chieftain Warns Rivers Opponent

APC chieftain and former member of the House of Representatives, Chidi Wihioka, has declared that the All Progressives Congress will secure victory in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State during the 2027 general elections.

According to Ireporter Online, Wihioka made the declaration in a viral video while addressing supporters and urged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, not to be concerned about securing votes from the area.

Ikwerre Local Government Area is the hometown of former Rivers State Governor and African Democratic Congress (ADC) vice-presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi.

Although Wihioka did not mention Amaechi by name, his remarks appeared to be directed at the former governor as he spoke about the political contest and control of the area ahead of the 2027 elections.

The former lawmaker insisted that those seeking to influence the political direction of Ikwerre would face resistance, saying he and his associates were familiar with the local political landscape.

“Our leader Nyesom Wike shouldn’t bother about the Ikwerre Local Government votes. The person who said he wants to do this and that, I know him. We grew up together, and we know how to cage him,” Wihioka said.

He maintained that the APC would mobilise its supporters to deliver Ikwerre to the party at the appropriate time.

“At the appropriate time, we will cage him, and that will be the story,” the former lawmaker added.

Wihioka further claimed that should the unnamed politician choose to boycott the 2027 election, APC supporters would ensure that he was effectively pushed out of the political contest.

“When he announces that he is boycotting the election, we shall escort him to the airport to fly back,” he said.

The remarks come amid growing political manoeuvring in Rivers State as major political actors position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
