Tinubu Loves Nigeria’ — Yari Reveals APC’s 2027 Election Plan
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said its campaign for the 2027 presidential election will focus on the achievements and performance of President Bola Tinubu’s administration rather than personal attacks on political opponents.
According to Ireporter Online, the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulazeez Yari, disclosed this in Gusau, Zamfara State, after a closed-door meeting with Governor Dauda Lawal and traditional rulers on Wednesday.
Yari said the party would use the 2027 campaign to present Nigerians with the achievements of the Tinubu administration and outline what it intends to accomplish if the President secures another term in office.
He explained that the campaign would be driven by issues, government records and policies rather than personal attacks or unrealistic promises.
Yari also reflected on Nigeria’s political history, noting that the country had faced periods when its unity appeared uncertain but had continued to remain together.
“Nigeria is a wonderful country. We have been seeing so many things which some predicted that Nigeria will not continue as a country, from June 12 to others. This is where we are. Nigerians continue to ensure this country remains a united country,” he said.
The former Zamfara governor further expressed confidence in Tinubu’s commitment to Nigeria’s development, describing the President as a leader who genuinely loves the country.
“Tinubu is beyond any other person. He is for Nigerians, and a leader that loves this country without any fear of contradiction,” Yari said.
He reiterated that the APC’s 2027 campaign would not primarily revolve around making new promises but would instead highlight what the administration had accomplished since assuming office.
Yari said his decision to begin his campaign engagements with traditional rulers was deliberate, given their influence and close connection with communities across the country.
Although traditional rulers are not politicians, he said they play an important role in society and could provide valuable support and guidance as the APC prepares for the election.
He added that seeking their support and blessings was an important part of the campaign council’s preparations.
Meanwhile, Governor Dauda Lawal said the meeting with traditional rulers was organised to formally introduce Yari to the state’s traditional institution following his appointment as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
Lawal described Yari as a son of Zamfara and said it was necessary for him to receive the backing and goodwill of traditional leaders as he takes on the responsibility of leading the campaign.
“It is important for us to hand him over to them to seek for their support. This is the reason for the meeting,” the governor said.
Lawal also assured the campaign council that President Tinubu would receive the full support of Zamfara State in the 2027 presidential election.
